  • Cladograms of host phylogeny and microbial community similarity. Host phylogeny is based on previous investigations into pika genetic structure across mountain ranges (Galbreath et al., ). Microbial community similarity was determined by generating a UPGMA tree (Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmetic Mean) as described in the Materials and methods. Bootstrap values were 1 at all nodes for the microbiome cladogram
