(a and b) Phenoloxidase (PO) activity expressed as the zone of inhibition diameter (mean ± 95% CI) in the haemolymph of offspring from control mothers (phosphate‐buffered saline; white bars) and (a) Bacillus thuringiensis‐primed mothers (grey bars), before and after an immune challenge with inactivated B. thuringiensis, or (b) Serratia entomophila‐primed mothers (black bars), before and after an immune challenge with inactivated S. entomophila.
