  • (A) Representative σ–ɛ curves for native (N), decellularized (DE) and Glutaraldehyde‐fixed (GA) porcine pericardium tissue samples obtained from UTL tests. (B) The six parameters extracted for tissue biomechanical characterization are highlighted in red: elastic modulus at low (Elow) and high (Ehigh) strain values, calculated as the slope of the linear regression lines (red solid lines) of the two linear regions of the σ–ɛ curves, transition strain (ɛtrans, corresponding to the intersection point of the linear regression line with the abscissa) and stress (σtrans, that is, the σ value corresponding to ɛtrans), and maximum tensile stress (σmax) and strain (ɛmax).
