  • 5‐HT3B subunits were expressed in rat hippocampal and cortical neurons. (A and B) Immunohistochemical detection of 5‐HT3B subunits in the CA1 layer and the dentate gyrus (DG), but not in CA2 or CA3 layers, of the rat hippocampus. (C) At higher magnification, some neurons can be seen to be more intensely labelled than others (arrows). (D) In the cerebral cortex, scattered neurons are immunopositive for the 5‐HT3B subunit (arrows). Scale bars, 500 µm (A), 250 µm (B), 50 µm (C and D).
