  • Breakthrough curves and retained bacteria profiles for the two extended duration column experiments conducted at 3.5 mM ionic strength. In each experiment, three identical columns with the same initial 260 min input pulse of bacteria were stopped at different times and the retained bacteria were extracted (bottom). The solid line depicts the predictions of the model that was fit to the longest duration column experiment. Error bars represent the upper and lower 95% confidence interval.
