  • Effects of various protease inhibitors on tissue plasminogen activator (tPA)‐induced N27 cell death. Effects of protease inhibitors on N27 cell death due to tPA treatment (10–20 μg/ml) in serum‐free media. Anisomycin (Aniso)‐treated cells served as a positive control for cell death. The cells were treated with various protease inhibitors 30 min before tPA exposure (20 μg/ml) for 24 h; Aprot, aprotinin (200 KIU/ml); EACA, ɛ‐aminocaproic acid (2 mM); FPRck, Phe‐Pro‐Arg‐CH2Cl (100 μg/ml); EGRck, Glu‐Gly‐Arg‐CH2Cl (100 μg/ml); and Bival, bivalirudin (20 μg/ml). The percent (%) viability was calculated using the MTT assay. Data are shown as mean±SE (n=6). #P<0.05 vs. tPA 20 μg/ml, *P<0.05 vs. tPA treatments (10–20 μg/ml).
