Asset Details

  • Description:
  • β‐hydroxybutyrate (BHBA) levels in early lactating Murrah buffaloes. The panel (a) shows the standard curve for BHBA by an ELISA method. The panel (b) depicts the serum BHBA levels in total lactating Murrah buffaloes (M, n = 6) and Heifers (H; n = 3). The BHBA levels were not significantly different between M and H. The data were analyzed by using a two sample t test with an assumption of unequal variances. The panel (c) represents the serum BHBA levels among high milk yielders (HMY), low milk yielders (LMY), and heifers (H). The BHBA levels were not significantly different among HMY, LMY, and H. The data were analyzed by using one‐way ANOVA with the Post hoc Kruskal Wallis test. In the panels (a) and (b), the X‐axes indicate the postpartum weeks and the Y‐axes indicate the mean ± SEM of serum BHBA levels (µM). ANOVA: analysis of variance; ELISA: enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay; SEM: standard error of mean
