  • Amino acid sequences surrounding the reactive centre loop (RCL) in representative LSDV, GTPV and SPPV serpin proteins (ORF_149). The homologous regions in the cowpox (Brighton Red) and rabbitpox (Utrecht) virus SPI‐1 and SPI‐2 serpins are shown for reference purposes. The LSDV and GTPV proteins likely share a similar protease target, but possibly not the same protease targeted by SPPV_149 judging by substitutions at the P14 and P4′ sites. GenBank entries for LSDV NI‐2490, GTPV Pellor and SPPV India are AF325528, AY077835 and AWX92162.1, respectively
