  • Experimental schedules. Dams of the UN group were subjected to food restriction during embryonic day 5.5‐10.5. A, The effects of handling on the behavior and brain monoamine content of prenatally undernourished offspring were examined. Offsprings of CON‐H and UN‐H groups underwent daily handling after weaning (4 weeks of age) and the behavioral comparisons were made between CON‐H, CON‐NH, UN‐H, and UN‐NH groups at 9 weeks of age. B, The effects of chelerythrine on behavior were compared among CON‐H‐Chel, CON‐H‐S, UN‐H‐Chel, and UN‐H‐S groups. Chelerythrine was injected to the offspring at 14 weeks of age and behavioral tests were performed. C, Detailed schedules of chelerityrine injection and behavioral tests are shown. OFT was performed 30 minutes after chelerythrine injection. The second injection of chelerythrine was administered at 2 days after the first, and thereafter, behaviors were examined using EPM.
