  • Apelin‐13 treatment reduces ROS production in LSS‐induced plaques. Quantification for ROS content (DHE staining) in: OSS‐induced plaques (A: 1.000 ± 0.075 vs 0.820 ± 0.109, for vehicle and apelin‐13‐treated, respectively, P = .3283); LSS‐induced plaques (D: 1.000 ± 0.040 vs 0.7853 ± 0.087, for vehicle and apelin‐13‐treated, respectively, P = .0104) and aortic sinus plaques (G: 1.000 ± 0.049 vs 1.074 ± 0.120, for vehicle and apelin‐13‐treated, respectively, P = .5360) of apelin‐13‐ and vehicle‐treated ApoE−/− mice.
