Asset Details

  • Description:
  • Absolute coverage of (A) forbs, (B) graminoids, and (C) all ground‐layer herbs, and (D) relative coverage of forbs, plotted as a function of direct PFD (photon flux density) and sand content. Numbers represent mean values for each of the 16 light × soil microhabitats, plotted at the centroids of those microhabitats. Contours reflect the best fit equations relating coverage to the independent variables. Coefficients of determination (r2) are all significant at P < 0.001: (A) 0.96, df = 12; (B) 0.85, df = 13; (C) 0.91, df = 12; and (D) 0.98, df = 12. Note the log scales.
