(b) Epidermis with dense keratotic nodules (kn) in discrete foci, indenting the surface and forming confluent horny papules (hp); hypergranulosis with diffuse basophilic material (filaggrin, f) and moderate acanthosis, but normal dermis (hematoxylin and eosin, × 40). (c) Papillary dermis with normal oxytalan and elaunin fibers (Gomori stain, × 160). (d) Normal reticular dermis, moderately thickened elastic fibers, and normal collagen fibers (Gomori stain, × 160)
