- Description:
- Outer appearance and matrix composition of the snottites from the ‘Drei Kronen und Ehrt’ field site in the Harz Mountains, Germany. A. A snottite hanging from the ceiling of the mine. Note that the ceiling is covered by a crystalline crust that consists of Fe sulfate minerals and gypsum. B. Concentrations of sulfate, ferrous iron and ferric iron in the aqueous phase of a snottite.
