  • Synthetic groundwater (pH 5.5) amended with 10 mM G3P (as sole C and P source) and inoculated with either viable or heat‐killed control Rahnella sp. Y9602 (squares) or Bacillus sp. Y9‐2 (circles) or Arthrobacter sp. X34 (triangles). Abiotic controls were cell‐free. Concentrations of: (A) phosphate, (B) U(VI) and (C) cfu measured as a function of time. Arrow at 36 h denotes the addition of 200 μM U(VI). Error bars denote standard deviation of triplicate experiments.
