Asset Details

  • Description:
  • A: Inhibition of atmospheric methane consumption by acetate. Inhibition was expressed by the ratio of the rate constants of CH4 uptake by acetate treated soils with the water controls. Inhibition was determined 10 h after additions were made. B: Methane consumption by forest soil during incubations in the presence and absence of acetate. □, acetate (2 μmol gfw soil−1); ■, control treatments. Experiments were carried out with sieved soils.
